Day 3: Coorg-Bekal

We left from our Homestay by 07:40 am and we were able to cover three beautiful tourist spots before 9 am as these places were near our Homestay.
In short :It is better to stay in a homestay at Madikeri to cover maximum places without a need to travel longer distance. As we had 3 days in Coorg, we stayed one day in a homestay(interior coorg) and two days in kushal nagar resort to enjoy the leisure stay.

We reached Raja Seat by 8:30. Raja seat is a good place to get a glance at the beautiful misty hill and sunset. We took some snaps and left the place by 8:45 am. There is a small park for the kids and a toy train opposite to the Raja Seat.
1. A beautiful garden which welcomes the tourist 2. Raja's Seat where the raja used to sit and watch the surroundings. 3 &4 A beautiful scenic view

Talacauvery

It was a 1 ½ hrs drive. We reached talacauvery by 10:45. Stood in the queue by 11 to get the theertham that the priest offered directly from the Cauvery origin place
One can even walk across the pond in front of the priest and the priest pours water from the main origin once you come across the pond. We just sprinkled water on our head and got the theertham from the priest.
1. Entrance to Talacauvery 2. Few steps to be climbed to stand in the queue.

It is said that there is a garden if you climb few hundred steps further. They say that kerala border could be seen from that height. But, we did not attempt for it and returned to our car by 11:35 am.
1. Priest Offering theertham from the Talacauvery origin ( a small 1 sq ft square which never dries out) 2. The small pond which the devotees walk across and get the the theertham instead of waiting in the queue. 3. A separate path that leads to a garden from which the kerala border can be viewed 4. The lengthy queue. 5. The Small pond

Bhagamandala:

It is just less than 20 mins travel from talacauvery. Actually, one has to visit Bhagamandala first, take bath there and then visit talacauvery. But we did it in a reverse way😬.
We reached Bhagamandala by 11:50. We prayed and moved to trivenisangamam (opposite to the temple)to take bath. My son took bath at triveni sangamam and we left by 12:45. We were back to the car by 12:55 and moved towards kerala.
1. Bhagamandala Temple entrance 2. The temple
Triveni sagamam

Bekal fort:

It is a 2 ½ hrs drive from Bhagamandala(karnataka) to Bekal(kerala). We had food near bekal fort and reached Bekal fort by 4:03pm.
It was an awesome fort with lot of watch tower built inside in different directions. The fort was built by a Malabar king and was maintained by Tipu sultan after acquiring the region. This is the place where the Uyire song from Bombay movie was shot.
1. Bekal Fort entrance 2. The agazhi or the moat that was constructed around the fort wall 3. The very big well from which the agazhi gets the water from
It is a very very large fort and the views from the watch towers were awesome; full of greenary and water. We saw hidden caves, steps that goes underneath the ground,a very big water tank in the ground . The fort was well maintained.
1. View Of the entrance from a distance 2. One of the main watch towers. 3. Closer look of the Watch Tower  ( Uyire song from Bombay movie  where manisha koirala will run down the sloping path of the tower)
The fort has several watch towers in different directions. It was built on the idea of  watching the entry of the enemies from all directions. The picture shows three such watch towers.
1. Lovely Beach view from one of the towers 2. Secret foot steps that goes underneath the ground ( There was a door and it was locked) 3. Secret cave 4. The Beach view( Remember the Uyire, Uyire vandhu ennodu kalandhu vidu song?? )

We left the fort by 4:50 and reached Bekal beach by 5:00 pm

Bekal Beach park: The beach park is near the fort. It is similar to the VGP amusement park but with fewer games. We did not spend time in the games instead we spent time till 6:20pm in the beach and reached the hotel by 07:45pm

The whole day went on well.
